S.C.C.N.R. provides vital community programs revolving around education, financial literacy, and social services (food, clothing and shelter). We believe that these core services are imperative in equipping individuals with skills for success, strengthening families to have brighter futures, and uplifting communities out of poverty.
Our Story
Born out of the North Richmond Missionary Baptist Church, S.C.C.N.R. was formed with the intention of transforming the lives of residents within the North Richmond Community, which has struggled with decades of high crime and poverty. In addition to high levels of violence, residents have also faced a lack of educational opportunities, health care services, and access to fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy foods. These key issues directly harm our residents by preventing growth and must be addressed before any true change can come to the North Richmond community.
To combat the numerous issues facing our residents, we will strive to develop key relationships with residents, local businesses and charity-based organizations, and local law enforcement. It is our belief that in order to implement change, we must collaborate with all community partners to tackle issues that impact us all. We will also provide programs and services to those most in need in order to change lives and help influence a greater impact on the surrounding area.
